    Atomos just released details for the latest firmware update version 8.11 for their flagship Shogun Inferno 4K Raw Recorder. The latest firmware update adds BT.2020 support for the Sony FS7 II and also now supports the 10-bit output on the upcoming and highly-anticipated Panasonic GH5 4K/60p camera.

  2. Blackmagic Camera Update 4.2 adds Black Shading, Also Video Assist Firmware 2.3.1 Available

    Blackmagic Camera Update 4.2 is the latest firmware for the popular Blackmagic Design URSA Mini 4.6K camera, which now includes black shading calibration. In addition, the Blackmagic Video Assist and Video Assist 4K get firmware 2.3.1, which functionality with the 3D LUT interface.

  3. Sony PMW-F5/F55 Firmware Update 8.0 Still Available, But Not Online

    You may recall that a few months ago, Sony released the highly anticipated Firmware 8.0 for their Sony PMW-F5 and Sony PMW-F55 cameras. However, it is worth nothing that unlike conventional previous firmware updates this firmware is serial numbers specific meaning that certain F5 and F55 cameras within a serial number range cannot perform the upgrade.

    The Video Assist monitor/recorders from Blackmagic Design go from strength to strength with the latest firmware update version 2.2, which adds an MXF wrapper for DNxHD and the 4K DNxHR codecs on the Video Assist 4K, as well as false colour for assisting camera operators with exposure. The firmware also adds improvements to the focus assist peaking with the addition of more colours - Red, Green, Blue and White.
