Varicam LT

Panasonic released the latest firmware update version 5.0 for their Varicam LT Super 35 cinema camera. The latest update features the addition of the much requested 2K ProRes recording format including ProRes 4444 XQ. The latest codec addition to the already versatile Varicam LT makes the camera even more appealing to single operators specialising in narrative drama or commercials.

Experienced DP Tobias Mennie recently took the Panasonic Varicam LT and shot some beautiful night footage at ISO 5000 of Berlin, showcasing the unique dual-native ISO feature of the camera.

With the release of the latest firmware version 4.0, the Panasonic Varicam LT can now output 4K Raw up to 30p via a single SDI, or 4K/60p via Dual-link SDI to a compatible external recorder. At the moment those are the Convergent Design Odyssey7Q+ and the Atomos Shogun Inferno. The firmware update is free of charge for Varicam LT owners.

Panasonic just released the latest firmware update for the Varicam LT, which adds significant improvements to the audio user interface and control as well as 24p for Proxy G6 recording and a few more features that will come in very handy on set.
