Sigma has released a host of firmware updates for their lenses in June so I thought I would consolidate them in this one blog. For those of you that are new to Sigma they are a lens manufacturer which produce some great lenses for both still and video cameras which have an excellent performance vs price ratio. Sigma have been making lenses for years and recently branching out with some high quality Cine Primes for the cinematography market. Their cine lens range includes lenses for both S35 and full-frame sensor cameras.

New Firmware for SIGMA lenses with Canon mount

The new firmware update is available now and corrects the issue of the continuous shooting speed decreasing when using firmware Ver.2.00 with certain camera and lens combinations. If you own the SIGMA USB DOCK and applicable products listed below, then you can update the firmware via SIGMA Optimization Pro. As with any firmware update using the SIGMA USB DOCK, it’s always best to check and if necessary update SIGMA Optimization Pro to Ver. 1.4.1 or later for Windows, and Ver. 1.4.0 or later for Macintosh. Firmware update for SIGMA MOUNT CONVERTER MC-11 SA-E / EF-E

The firmware update for the SIGMA MOUNT CONVERTER MC-11 SA-E and EF-E is now available from Sigma. This firmware update makes the SIGMA MOUNT CONVERTER MC-11 SA-E / EF-E compatible with Sigma’s other new products as well as the latest firmware of existing SIGMA interchangeable lenses. If you own the SIGMA MOUNT CONVERTER MC-11 SA-E / EF-E, you can update the firmware via SIGMA Optimization Pro by connecting it to a computer using the supplied USB Cable.
