As with every major industry trade show event such as NAB, Blackmagic Design had a massive booth at IBC 2015 in Amsterdam, which was packed with visitors eager to try the latest gear from the innovative Australian company. The company also announced a few new products and gave us some updates on upcoming kit.

AURORA Skycam, who specialise in streaming and filmed content of the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) were given the privilege of being the first company in the world to use the new ME20F-SH camera to produce stunningly detailed low-light footage of one of the world’s most spectacular natural phenomena.

With the imminent arrival of the much anticipated Canon C300 Mark II the need for extra batteries solutions and accessories grows exponentially. IDX have just announced a V-mount battery plate which is designed specifically for the new 4K Cano EOS camera.

ARRI had their full camera line-up on display at IBC 2015 in Amsterdam including the 65mm digital cinema top dog ALEXA 65, the latest ALEXA Mini and upcoming ALEX A SXT cameras as well as the documentary oriented ARRI AMIRA. In the upcoming SUP 3.0 for the AMIRA, the camera will receive some really exciting new features including 4K UHD recording, MPEG2 HD 422 at 50Mb/s recording for full integration with broadcast workflows, in addition to Wi-Fi control from smart phones and tables.
