Schneider ISCO4All Anamorphic Set

Schneider has some excellent news for cinematographers seeking that classic anamorphic look. The company is in the process of reviving the classic Iscorama anamorphic lenses with a three lens set they call the ISCO4All Anamorphic Set. The lens set is set to include three full-frame spherical lenses - a 43mm, a 58mm and an 85mm T2.4 paired with a 1.5x squeeze anamorphic adapter. Scheduled to ship later in 2022, these lenses are said to be available only in PL mount and feature an 11-blade aperture design. Their full-frame sensor coverage and compact size will make them ideal for large format cine cameras such as the VENICE and Alexa MINI LF.

Rycote HC Microphones

Rycote have been the leader in pro audio accessories and wind protection and now they are also making their own broadcast-grade microphones. The new Rycote HC-22 is a high-quality professional mic with a hyper-cardioid pick-up pattern and extremely low self-noise catering to the broadcast and film industry. In addition the HC-22 is compact and lightweight and thanks to its advanced RF shielding it looks like the perfect choice for on-location audio for dialogue. The HC-15 features a similar design, but with a smaller footprint making it perfect for capturing audio in doors. Both mics are available in various kit configurations with additional wind protection from Rycote.

Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve training

Blackmagic Design has released a new collection of free training videos for Resolve 17. The free resource contains over 17 hours of training provided by certified DaVinci Resolve trainers covering all major sections of Resolve 17 including the Edit page, the Colour page, Fairlight audio and the VFX focused Fusion section. These official tutorials are a fantastic opportunity for anyone new to Resolve to get familiar with the interface and improve their workflow. In addition, Blackmagic Design is also including free example projects and media to help you follow along and practice. That's it for this week, we'll be back next week with more news in 90 seconds.
