Wooden Camera D-Box Plus

Wooden Camera has introduced a new accessory for the Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 12K camera. The Wooden Camera D-Box Plus is a slim profile, distribution and breakout box designed specifically for the URSA Mini Pro 12K. Compatible with V-mount or Gold mount batteries the D-Box Plus features a clutter-free cable design and plenty of outputs to power various accessories such as an on-camera monitor, a wireless receiver, and focus motors. The D-Box Plus also features a green LED indicator to ensure correct voltage on the DC input and re-routes the LANC IN port to the side for additional remote camera control options. Camera operators can attach various accessories via the included ARRI rosette and two 3/8th mounting points with ARRI standard locating pins.

Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 12K price reduction

Speaking of the URSA Mini Pro 12K, Blackmagic Design has just announced a massive 40% price reduction on their top end camera, now priced at $6,000. The URSA Mini Pro 12K features a unique 80 megapixel full RGB sensor capable of recording Blackmagic RAW in various resolutions up to 12K, including 8K and 4K at high speeds. This past week, Blackmagic Design also released DaVinci Resolve 17.3 update with support for a more efficient processing engine that runs up to 3x faster on the latest Macs equipped with the Apple M1 chip. The latest update also brings improvements to audio latency and new Resolve Effects controls including aperture diffraction and more.

Aputure Sidus Link 1.6

Aputure has released a major new update to their smart app. Sidus Link Update 1.6 adds impressive new custom FX features such as Music FX, which can analyze any music track and sync your lighting to the beat. Mapping different colors and manually adjusting the BMP is also an option, while Palette enables DoPs to transmit various colour schemes to all their lights at once saving precious time on set. And last, but not least, the Diagram Master feature has also been improved with a new Wrap-Up list making it easy to see what you need to bring on shoot day. The app also features new icons for new objects and different lights from popular manufacturers such as ARRI, Astera, and Kino-Flo.
