At the IBC 2017 show, ARRI introduce their new SkyPanel S360-C expanding ARRI's LED soft light range with the largest and brightest SkyPanel to date. The SkyPanel S360-C is both powerful and packed with exciting features, making it one of the most versatile LED fixtures on the market. Though it still retains the same features and colour tuneability as its smaller counterparts, its surface area covers over 5.8x larger than the S60. At over 120,000 lumens and consuming only 1500 watts, it is twice as bright as 4,000-watt tungsten soft light and over three times as bright as a 12,000-watt tungsten space light. ARRI are describing the panel as the most brightest and eco-friendly LED soft light available. SkyPanel S360-C The new ARRI SkyPanel is an exceptionally versatile LED soft light - compact, fully tuneable and delivering light of unsurpassed power and quality. Because different application areas call for different lighting needs, SkyPanel has been designed as a series of fixtures. The mid-range S60, the smaller and more portable S30, the long aperture S120, and the new S360 fills out the family with the largest aperture and a brightness four times that of the S60. SkyPanel has always had a multitude of ways to control the light output; DMX, RDM, Art-Net, sACN, 5-Pin XLR, and Ethernet. The S360-C adds another important communication method, and this one does not involve any wires: Wireless DMX by LumenRadio. Built into every S360-C, the CMRX chip allows for DMX and RDM communication without the hassle of cables and distribution equipment. Simply link a compatible LumenRadio transmitter to the S360-C and you’re good to go. Using the 5-Pin DMX output on the S360-C also allows for daisy chaining other non-wireless SkyPanels to the DMX network. ARRI SkyPanel S360-C Highlights

SkyPanel ‘C’ (Colour) versions have the ability to adjust the correlated colour temperature anywhere between 2,800 K and 10,000 K, with excellent colour rendition over the entire range. Full plus and minus green correction can be achieved with the simple turn of a knob, and in addition to CCT control, vivid colour selection and saturation adjustment is also possible. Applications for this controllability range from quickly adjusting the CCT to set the mood of a scene, to selecting the perfect green colour to wash a green screen. Each LED light engine is computer calibrated in order to ensure unit-to-unit and batch-to-batch consistency, as well as accurate colour temperatures. The SkyPanel series of lights also works in concert with the L-Series, ARRI’s LED Fresnel line, perfectly. The SkyPanel user interface is designed to be incredibly easy to use, but also to make a wide range of controls available to the user, all at the same time. With three simple knobs, the colour temperature, green/magenta point, intensity, hue and saturation can be adjusted instantly. People who have never used the light before find the interface effective and intuitive. In addition to the on-board controls, all functions can be remotely adjusted via DMX or LAN network connections or the SkyPanel Remote. This handheld remote connects to any SkyPanel via a USB cable and allows for full control of the fixture remotely and adds new flexibility and ease-of-use for the SkyPanel line of luminaires. Additionally remote phosphor versions are also available for the S30 and S60. To make white LEDs, phosphors are typically placed directly on a single blue LED. Remote phosphor technology uses many powerful blue LEDs to excite a panel coated in phosphors, which is positioned further away from the LEDs. These high-quality phosphors deliver near-perfect colour rendition and outstanding light output. The remote phosphor versions of SkyPanel are slightly brighter than the colour versions and have a lower price point due to less complex electronics. Different colour temperature panels are available, including 2,700 K; 3,200 K; 4,300 K; 5,600 K, 6,500 K and 10,000 K. A chroma green phosphor panel is available for green screen lighting. More information ad technical details can be found by visiting the Skypanel S360-C website. The new Skypanel will soon be available to order form Visual Impact.
