Convergent Design announced they are continuing indefinitely the discounted pricing on their Odyssey7Q+ and Apollo at £1400 + VAT and and £2300 + VAT respectively. This is great news for freelancers and production companies looking to spice up their 4K and Full HD workflow especially if working in a multi-camera environment.
The new pricing represents roughly a 25% discount off the original price and gives camera professionals access to a more robust workflow and also gives users the ability to use all the professional recording and monitoring tools in the Odyssey/Apollo, which are the most advanced 4K raw and multi-camera video switcher/recorders respectively.
However, unlike the recent discount promotion where customers would receive a free 256GB SSD included, new purchases of the Odyssey7Q+ and Apollo will no longer include free media.
Convergent Design also announced they are not going to be making their own SSD's any more and will continue their partnership with Samsung to use their high performance SSDs in the O7Q+ and Apollo.
Customers now have the flexibility to use a range of high-performance Samsung 850 EVO and 850 EVO Pro SSDs in 1TB, 512GB, 256GB and 128GB capacities, which are competitively priced and widely available and have been thoroughly stress tested by Convergent Design engineers and passed with flying colours.
To order your Odyssey7Q+ 4K raw recorder, which adds 4K/2K raw recording from cameras like the Sony FS700R/PXW-FS7 and soon the Sony PXW-FS5, you can do so directly
from our website here with free delivery in the UK.
Keep in mind that to recorder Raw, customers would need to purchase the Odyssey Raw Bundle directly from Convergent Design's website, and also have the functionality enabled in their camera (ie. have the XDCA-FS7 extension unit if the are using an FS7, and/or purchase the FS5 Raw license, when released in June if using the FS5).
