Blackmagic Pocket Camera Update 6.1

Blackmagic Design have released Camera Update 6.1, which brings new features and much needed improvements to the Blackmagic Pocket 4K camera. Notable new features and improvements include 2:1 frame guides, pixel remapping to help fix issues with hot pixels, and improved power efficiency for better battery life. Camera Update 6.1 is said to also improve the touch autofocus performance as well as fix issues with detecting UBS-C external drives in addition to a more reliable low-battery status indicator among other improvements.

Litepanels Gemini LED Accessories

Litepanels released details for a new range of accessories for their popular Gemini LED panels. New accessories include a new padded carry case, dual battery brackets for either Gold Mount or V-mount 14.4V batteries, and a low-profile floor stand kit for placing the light on the floor or flat surface, providing a more stable base for on-location lighting

New Canon EOS RP Mirrorless Camera

Hot off the press is the new Canon EOS RP entry-level full-frame mirrorless camera. The new EOS RP uses the new RF lens mount and has a 26 megapixel full frame sensor with Dual Pixel AF. An EF to RF mount lens adapter is included in the box to allow users to use their existing EF mount lenses on the new system. The EOS RP features a fully articulating touch screen as well as a headphone and mic input, making it perfect for vloggers. 4K video is available; however it is cropped much like on the EOS R and we don’t get Canon Log. The budget Canon EOS RP records onto a single SD card and is powered by a Canon LPE17 battery much like the M50 model.
