Sony a6700 and FE 70-200mm f4 G Macro OSS II

Sony has just announced a new generation APS-C compact camera and an exciting telephoto zoom. The new alpha 6700 brings many user favourite features from the cinema line to Sony's next-gen APS-C compact cameras. Sony are also leveraging the power of their latest AI-chip to bring video users an unparalleled AI-assisted real-time tracking autofocus for a wide range of subjects. The alpha 6700 looks like the perfect B or C camera to your FX6 or FX9 main camera and with the ability to shoot 10bit 4K up to 60p as well as super-slow motion at up to 120fps in combination with S-log3 and S-Cinetone, matching footage in post should be quite easy. The camera also benefits form 5-axis internal image stabilisation and a flip-out screen with touch screen functionality. Sony also unveiled their new 70-200mm f4 Macro G lens Mark II with optical image stabilisation, which is shaping up to be a fantastic lens for FX6/FX3 users looking to add a very capable telephoto zoom with impressive macro capabilities for shooting both stills and video.


Tascam DR-10L Pro 32bit float audio recorder

Audio maker Tascam has released a new compact and stealthy audio recorder for video producers and camera professionals. The new Tascam DR-10L Pro is a 32-bit Float Field recorder, which makes it easy to capture professional audio for a wide variety of situations including events, interviews, and documentaries. The 32-bit float recording gives users access to a very wide dynamic range and prevents audio clipping make it easier to get broadcast level quality in post. The lav mic is attached via a locking connector for extra security and users can also control up to five DR-10L Pro units with Bluetooth or sync their recordings to timecode wirelessly with supported Atomos products.


Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve 18.5 Beta 5 update

Blackmagic Design has just released the latest Resolve 18.5 Public Beta 5 update, which now includes support for Blackmagic RAW 3.3, DaVinci Wide Gamut in Fusion, as well as improvements to Text+ such as element merging when using gradient fill, and more precise control of wide gamut settings. Beta 5 also includes updates for audio such as allowing the audio encoder bit rate settings to be applied per track, and playback improvements when using Fairlight Audio Accelerator. In addition, Blackmagic Design also released Video Assist 3.12 update, which adds support for 12bit Blackmagic RAW recording from the popular Panasonic GH6 for both the Video Assist 5-inch and 7-inch 12G HDR models.
