Panasonic AK-PLV100

Panasonic has announced a ground-breaking 4K studio camera for live cinematic video. The new Panasonic AK-PLV100GJ is equipped with a PL mount and a Super 35mm 5.7K sensor inherited from the VariCam. Designed to support production studios moving to more connected IP-based workflows, the camera will support SMPTE ST 2110, which will allow a video output directly from the camera head without the need for a CCU, greatly simplifying the IP-based live production workflow. This also enables a streamlined connection to the KAIROS IT/IP platform enabling production to deliver rich content to multiple screens and streams. Panasonic also announced a new 4K PTZ camera - the AW-UE160. Equipped with a newly developed image processing engine, improved low-light sensitivity and a new Phase Detection AF system, the new flagship also offers SMPTE ST2110 support, a crop + zoom function, HDR HLG support, a return input function and much more.

Adobe Premiere Pro 23

During their latest Adobe MAX 2022 conference, Adobe released the latest Premiere Pro 23.0 update with support for ARRIRAW and ProRes files from the new ALEXA 35 camera. This update brings some massive improvements to creating graphics and titles with the Essential Graphics Panel, which now supports bulk editing of titles on the timelines, flexible alignment of text and shape elements, and inner/outer strokes for graphics among others. The latest update also brings performance improvements to 10bit AVC intra formats, which are said to be 2x faster on Apple Silicon machines, while ProRes 422 LT is now the default codec for sequence rendering on both Mac and PCs.

FUJINON HZK 25-1000mm

FUJIFILM has announced the development of a new broadcast lens compatible with large format cinema camera sensors. The new FUJINON HZK 25-1000mm is a PL mount box lens with an impressive 40x zoom ratio. Unlike more traditional box lenses of this caliber, which are equipped with B4 mount, the new 25-1000mm from Fujinon has a native PL mount and covers a 41mm image circle making it compatible with the latest full-frame cinema cameras such as the Sony VENICE 2. The advanced optical design enables images free of ghosting, flares, and other aberrations, while advanced built-in features such as automatic CA correction and remote back focus, ensure a more streamlined workflow.
