The ALEXA 35 Live Xtreme - Multicam System is a complete production toolset for live content producers, combining ARRI image quality, unique control of creative looks, and easy integration into live production environments. The system comprises the ALEXA 35 Live Xtreme camera, Live Production System LPS-1 (Fiber Camera Adapter and Fiber Base Station), and bespoke accessories offered in different combinations in various sets.

Among these accessories are the new ARRI Multicam Support Set 2 with Live Production Handle LPH-2, and the quick-fit Large Lens Adapter LLA-1 and LLA-1/BUD Slider Plate for rapid setup with box lenses.

The ALEXA 35 Live Xtreme camera comes permanently pre-installed with the High Speed License and a new High Frame Rate SDI License. When combined with the ARRI LPS-1 Fiber Camera Adapter and Fiber Base Station, the system can output HFR at speeds of up to 8x in HD or 2x in UHD for input to a slow-motion server.

Frame rates up to 330 fps benefit from the camera’s full dynamic range of 17 stops, while a Sensor Overdrive mode allows frame rates up to 480 fps at a dynamic range of 11 stops. Whatever frame rate is chosen for the slow-motion feed, the system simultaneously provides a live feed for broadcast, allowing operators to switch between the program frame rate and HFR feed in real time.

This live feed is created from one or more of the phases used for the high frame rate output. An adjustment through the LPS-1 web UI allows users to select whichever combination of phases most effectively reduces motion blur and shutter effects to match other cameras or suit different environments.
