This week we are featuring the DJI Ronin 4D - DJI's first cinema camera, Panasonic's new 24 megapixel box camera and Samyang's introduction of their 24-70mm f2.8 zoom lens.

DJI is entering the cinema camera space with a revolutionary full-frame camera with an integrated gimbal. The new DJI Ronin 4D is built around the brand new full-frame Xenmuse X9 gimbal camera and a unique 4-Axis gimbal stabilization system that can even compensate for vertical shake. Available in two versions, an 8K and a 6K version, the Ronin 4D can record in both ProRes and ProRes RAW internally. The new and improved CineCore 3.0 intelligent image processing system paired with the new full-frame sensor gives cinematographers access to a 14 stops dynamic range and a dual native ISO for exceptional low-light performance. Co-developed and tested by top cinematographers such as Eric Messerchimdt and Claudio Miranda among others, the Ronin 4D also brings innovative LIDAR rangefinder for exceptional autofocus performance and an ultra-low latency image transmission system.

Panasonic BS1H

Panasonic expands their box camera range with the new BS1H camera featuring a 24 megapixel full-frame sensor for some impressive low-light performance. The Panasonic BS1H offers a very compact cube shape design with multiple IO options including SDI, HDMI, and Power over Ethernet (PoE+) making it suitable for a variety of productions including cinema, broadcast, and live events. The camera also offers 6K full frame capture in 25p, as well as 4K/60p in Super 35 mode in addition to ProRes RAW and Blackmagic RAW external recording options via HDMI. A Super35 anamorphic mode is also included while native L mount makes it possible to use a variety of high quality Leica lenses or adapt PL mount cine lenses. When recording in V-Log the BS1H is capable of 14 stops of dynamic range according to Panasonic, while the dual native ISO makes it possible to capture exceptional images in low-light situations.

Samyang 24-70mm f2.8

Budget lens maker Samyang has introduced their first zoom lens. The new Samyang 24-70mm f2.8 is available in Sony E mount and covers full frame sensors. The lens offers an incredible quality to value proposition and combines an advanced optical formula with improved ergonomics tailored to both video and stills. Thanks to the linear STM motor the autofocus performance is smooth, accurate and quick, while the minimum focus distance is just 35cm. In addition, the lens also offers video optimized features such as parfocal design and linear manual focus control. The 9 blade aperture design provides smooth oval bokeh, while the weather sealing gives creators more freedom to film in the elements.
