Canon firmware updates announced for Canon EOS C700, C100, C100 MK II, XC10 and XC15 camcorders and ME-series (ME20F-SH and ME200S-SH) cameras. The C700 firmware update unlocks additional recording functionality on the CDX-36150.
The Canon C700 lens mount details where revealed recently by Canon. The service allows customers to go from EF with Cinema Lock to PL mount or vice versa. The Canon C700 is also Canon's first camera allowing users to change the sensor to a Global Shutter enabled one in the future. However, it is worth noting that when the sensor is changed from an electronic shutter one to a global shutter one, the camera loses the ability to use autofocus.
