Event Overview
Visual Impact, in association with Sound Network, is hosting a Film, Studio Broadcast and ENG Sound Open Day on Wednesday 28th September.

Sam Simon-Norris, from Sound Network, UK distributor for DPA for over 20 years, will present interactive talk sessions on how to improve speech intelligibility in film, studio broadcast and ENG sound recording.

Talk to the experts
His presentation will delve into modern microphone technology and demonstrate how different mic placement techniques and selecting the correct tools for the job can make a significant difference to the results before and during post production. This will facilitate a fair amount of hands-on time with the microphones, learning about what works best for your specific needs.

Try-out the kit
Sam will be using mics from DPA Microphones d:screet™ range: The well-respected 4060 and 4061 omni lavalier mics, including the new d:screet™ Slim model. The d:screet™ Slim lavalier mic bears an incredibly small footprint and its ingenious Button-hole Mount (aka "snorkel" mount) allows it to be concealed under a button while still delivering impressive frequency response and clarity.

These microphones will be paired with Sony UWP-D wireless packs, true diversity systems with digital audio sound quality and low latency performance. Also available to see will be the new Sony URX-P03D 2-Channel Portable Receiver which is a world-first in terms of size and capability. Sam will also be touching on a range of useful accessories from both DPA Microphones and Bubblebee Industries, like the DMM0023 concealer.

You will leave this session with:
  • How these products compare against the competition
  • Advice on the benefits of mic placement techniques
  • Which products to use for specific situations
  • How to use these mics in a real environment
Who should attend:
This event is ideal for owner/operators, independent filmmakers, sound specialists, documentary makers and corporate production creators.

This event is a must for anyone interested in Film, Studio Broadcast and ENG Sound
