Chrosziel Zoom Servo Drive

Chrosziel have announced a new Zoom Servo Drive Unit specially designed for the ZEISS 21-100mm Lightweight Zoom. The new Zoom servo unit transforms the Zeiss Lightweight Zoom into the perfect documentary lens for Sony FS5 and FS7 users as it allows them to operate the lens from the camera’s hand grip. The Chrosziel Zoom Servo Drive Unit is mounted very easy with just three captive screws to the right side of the lens and offers various power options such as D-tap, Hirose and other industry standard connections. There are four zoom modes designed to suit most applications ranging from ENG and documentary work to concerts and events. The Zoom Servo unit is also compactible with standard third party LANC Zoom Rockers so you can use with cameras other than the Sony FS7 or FS5.

Nikon full-frame camera

Nikon also announced the development of their 1st full-frame mirrorless camera, new lenses as well as a new lens mount to go with the new mirrorless design. Pricing, specs and further details are to be released at a later date, however, Nikon have confirmed they will be making an F-mount lens adapter allowing a wide variety of already available F-mount lenses to be used with the new system. According to the official statement there will be two new models to choose from and with Photokina 2018 approaching fast, an official product announcement seems imminent.

Avid Media Composer major firmware update

Avid Media Composer received a major firmware update giving editors access to 16K project presets, support for high frame rate projects such as 100 and 120 frames per second, as well as a major new feature called Live Timeline among other improvements. Live Timeline feature gives editors the ability to access menus, add or remove bins, expand and collapse folder views in Media Composer as well as perform functions outside of the app without interrupting timeline playback.
