Canon announced a brand new compact servo zoom lens - the CN-E 18-80mm at NAB 2016, which is surprisingly affordable and great for run-n-gun shooting scenarios. The 18-80mm bridges the gap between premium servo zoom lenses for Super 35 sensor cameras and traditional stills zoom lenses that are often used for videography.
The Compact Servo 18-80mm T4.4L features a compact design, very similar to the 70-200mm F2.8L II EF zoom in terms of size, with a native EF mount and a 77mm front filter thread for easy mounting of ND or polarizer filters. The 18-80mm compact zoom is parfocal and even though it is a T4.4 (F4.0 equivalent) the lens produces quite lovely bokeh at longer focal lengths.
What sets the 18-80mm Compact Servo from other compact servo zooms is the 3 stage image stabilisation built into the lens, which will assist cinematographers greatly when doing handheld work. When paired with the Canon C100 Mark II or C300 Mark II the lens supports Dual-Pixel AF for even more versatility in various shooting scenarios. The lens features a 12v DC in for powering when used on non-Cinema EOS cameras. An optional zoom rocker grip with start/stop functionality is also available.

The other big announcement for Canon at NAB 2016 was the new ME200S-SH - a compact lightweight and highly adaptable professional camera, which features an 8.29 MP Super 35 CMOS Sensor, 12 stops dynamic range and Canon's innovative Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology. The ME200S-SH is capable of absolutely stunning Full HD 1080p footage at up to 50p/59.94p up to a maximum ISO of 204,800 for excellent low-light performance.
The camera is very compact and easily lends itself to remote operation with connections for an external remote control, monitor, sound and an external recorder. The ME200S-SH features an EF lens mount with Cinema Lock for a full-range of EF/EF-S lenses and Canon's existing Cine Servo lenses thanks to the 12-pin interface.
Canon LOG and WideDR Gamma are also present for maximum flexibility in post-production. The camera is perfect for wildlife documentary productions, remote operations, drones, cranes, jibs and live events where multi-camera work is often required.
