Event Overview
Atomos, in partnership with Visual Impact, would like to welcome you to an HDR event opening with a seminar that will de-mystify the elements around HDR video and provide you with a sound understanding of the technology and its relevance commercially.

The introduction of 4K and UltraHD has added more pixels to the images we capture and display, but whilst this gives us bigger pictures that allow us more screen area to create within, what the film making community has been longing for is better pixels.  So whilst the 4K revolution was only a small step from HDTV, the next phase of the evolution is a giant leap and the most significant for a generation; this is the introduction of High Dynamic Range (HDR) to moving images.

Having facilitated the world of HD and 4K production with affordable 10-bit 4:2:2 ProRes/DNx recording, Atomos are igniting HDR production through a new range of 4K/HD monitor-recorders that feature the ground-breaking AtomHDR monitoring engine.

Seeing is believing

The day is split into two sessions each starting with a presentation from Atomos followed by a hands-on session with a number of different camera rigs configured with award-winning Atomos Ninja Flame, Shogun Flame and Blade series monitor-recorders.  You will have tutored hands-on experience of the AtomHDR engine that provides the ability to monitor Log images from cameras by Sony, Canon, Panasonic, JVC, Arri and RED in true HDR.  The ability to do this at the point of acquisition makes exposing and focusing the images being captured effortless, and you will see how easy filming for HDR productions can be, particularly with the aid of HDR specific waveform tools featured on Atomos devices.

Shooting for HDR doesn’t result in any additional files being created or even a change to the files you record today, it just requires a different approach to exposing your camera’s Log image – meaning you can shoot for HDR now and deliver for Rec709 as well.

With major content giants already delivery HDR programming and investing heavily in HDR ready content it is important to fully understand this generational leap forward in video production. Who should attend:
This event is suitable for anyone who is interested in understanding HDR and the benefits it brings. It is particularly relevant to people who are looking at purchasing or specifying products for HDR video production. Independent filmmakers, photojournalists, Cinematographers, DoP's, camera operators, freelancers Producers, Directors.

This event is a must for anyone interested in understanding HDR and the benefits it brings!
