MSW 900P MPEG IMX Digital Camcorder
The New 900 progressive camcorder, not the F900 HD, this is the PAL (625) progressive or interlaced, 16:9 or 4:3 camcorder with 2/3” chip and more resolving power than a DVW 790! but its MPEG II @ ML (4:2:2,50 Mbits) so bit rate is not as good as Digital Betacam. The menu structure has half of the HD F900 camera and half of the DVW 790 capturing the best of both worlds. All the gamma correction and matrix can be adjusted for various “looks” it has a few more tables than were previously available, IE:5 film Gamma settings. The MSW 900 P uses the same memory stick as the F900 and can also save up to 5 paint, scene, lens settings. If the 8 second loop board is installed MSDW 903 you can record time lapse! at last from 1 to 25 frames with a lapse of 1 second to 50 hours. It’s also possible to assign input channels to 3&4 and monitor them, but if you want to input 4 channels you still need the CA-701 same as the one on DVW 700/790. The camera has analogue composite input with CA 702 P...nice when and if you need it. All in all this is a budget HD camera as the camera can capture progressively, this will aid the blow-up to 35mm if one were making a film for that market on video. One would need a IMX VTR to playback the pictures, but the nice thing is the VTR will play any half inch format in PAL (625) or NTSC (525). Visuals Group Technical Department. |
