Visual Impact opens new specialist Hire Department for Audio products

It can make us relax, create a tense atmosphere or make you think twice very time you step into the water. (Who can forget the Darda..darda.da da da.sequence in Jaws)

Yet the audio side of a shoot is often left to the last minute with many people seeing it as a bit of a 'black art'. Well not at Visual Impact, we have been selling and renting audio equipment successfully for a number of years and now we are about to expand our offering. We have decided to open a dedicated audio hire department based at the offices in Teddington. Managed by Ian Coles it will provide the 3 key elements needed for any production: synchronisation, comms and audio. Ian brings with him a wealth of experience having worked on such TV hits as the 'F word', 'Dragons Den' and 'The Great British Menu'. He started his career in 1977 working at LWT before moving to TVAM. Ian then spent time as a freelancer before joining Picture Canning and then moving to Visuals in April this year following a short time freelancing again. "I want to enhance what Visuals are already doing ", he said, "and continue to grow the business." Initial signs are good, with Ian having just completed a new series of 'Dragons Den' which used a Tascam 24 track hard disc recorder, 12 x radio mics, Midas mixer and Prospect matrix and talkback system.
