Kingdom

The shoot for the current series of Kingdom took place last summer in Norfolk. This is the first HD shoot for Kingdom's director of photography, Dominic Clemence. His work includes TV dramas Trial & Retribution XI: Closure, Wire in the Blood and Messiah III: The Promise, all shot on film. He shot the six-part series Kingdom using HDW-750Ps with Pro35 lenses to give more of a 35mm look. “The look I wanted for Kingdom was very warm, rich and soft – an inviting, seductive look,” says Clemence. To achieve this, he used a lot of diffusion and polarised everything on the exteriors to make the colours purer and to knock out the UV. “Some of the exteriors worked extraordinarily well,” he says. The HDW-750Ps were provided by specialist rental company 24-7 Drama, part of the Visual Impact group. Visual Impact has also provided HDW-750Ps for the next series of Torchwood.
