In a nutshell
Capture epic cinematic 4.6K footage with 15 stops of dynamic range using the Blackmagic URSA, a revolutionary high-end digital film camera. The Blackmagic URSA is extremely versatile, suitable for large film crews, as well as single person use.

The URSA 4.6K is the flagship 4K Raw & ProRes camera from Blackmagic Design, announced at the largest film & video industry trade show, NAB 2015 in Las Vegas. The new camera features the same body as the original URSA, however this time around it has a brand new Super 35 CMOS 4.6K sensor at its heart. The new sensor has expanded sensitivity to a 15 stops dynamic range, three more than the original 4K sensor in the first generation URSA.

In the hands
With all the on-set equipment cleverly encased in a neat design, the Blackmagic URSA is a large professional size camera that retains space to keep the chassis cool. Hewn from aluminium, this camera is exceptionally strong and well-suited to large film crew use.

The Blackmagic URSA has been set up to suit specific roles and requirements, from the DOP and camera assistant, through to audio engineers. The camera also accommodates solo use, with everything built-in, such as the large fold-out on-set monitor, built-in scopes and an internal recorder. The DOP station features a large 10-inch fold-out screen.

Ideal for
Packed full of professional digital features, the Blackmagic URSA is well-suited to high-end feature films, commercials, episodic television production, documentaries, electronic news gathering, music videos and much more.

Features you need to know about
With the latest firmware update (2.3) this camera is capable of recording in astounding 120fps slow motion at 4K, in compressed RAW on-board CFast 2.0 cards. In addition, all purchases of the new URSA 4.6K in both mount options get full DaVinci Resolve 12 colour-grading software included, at no additional cost.

An additional ground-breaking feature is the ability for camera operators to select between rolling shutter and global shutter, the latter of which will eliminate the dreaded "jello-effect" (although at the expense of a stop, and sacrificing some dynamic range). However, stunning imagery is still possible thanks to the high dynamic range that the new sensor provides.

Optional accessories include a brand new full HD 1080p OLED electronic viewfinder, and an optional removable grip handle.
